Speak to me

According to Geeky Mom it's national delurking week in the USA. I have to admit that I am curious about the mysterious people who drop in without leaving a comment, so I'm making it international delurking week.
Go on hit the "comment" button just this once and tell me why you pop in here from time to time; what other blogs you read and think I might like; make a book/film/music recommendation; point out any annoying spelling mistakes you've noticed; tell me how you think I could improve the blog. Or tell me why you don't like commenting.
If your coming here was a terrible mistake, reveal why you were looking for the words to Hey Lolly Lolly or that "words-per-minute typing test", or a photo of Cap Ferret.

Go on. You know you want to.

thanks to you and a fellow whose link you gave, I have kept an eye on the million dollar home page, really interesting and fun to read. He is nearly there.

This latest de-lurking post an excellent idea, if I had a blog I would be very curious to have the opinion of the people who read and then leave with no comment. However, on the other hand, they are probably not worth the bother, and doubtless have absolutely nothing to say anyway.

Sometimes its better to stay quiet and be thought a fool than to comment and remove all doubt.

I think I probably read the same blogs as you.

Music recommendation - Madeleine Peyroux

Film recommendation - Sideways. I know its a year old but I just got it on dvd and its still THE film of 2005.

I like the commenting thing, especially when the comment is something substantial like the stem cell idea you left for me the other day, and which, by the way, required the combined thinking power of both my father and I to figure out... ;-) The worst is the kind of comment which just says: hey, you're interested in what I'm interested in, go look at my blog, its at: www.donkeypoems.com.

Well, Lesley, it has been awhile since I commented, so I guess I qualify as someone who should delurk!

I like commenting, but I think I worry about sounding stupid. Guess that's no excuse, though, so I'll try to do better in the future!

Keep blogging and we'll keep reading.

Bonjour! Ciamar a tha thu? I'm not a lurker, I'm just new here. Just dropping in to say hello, whih sounds a lot better than my earlier 'crappy New Year'. Blog on!

Thanks you all for delurking.

Deborah: yes, it would be interesting to know who reads this, but I see the regular lurkers (you know who you are, person in Finland, person in Burbank, California!) are still lurking.

Neil: I'm bidding on the Sideways DVD in E-bay on your recommendation. Will go and listen to Madeleine Peyroux in I-tunes

Jonathan: I only knew about the stem calls example because a colleague of mine wrote an article about it. It hadn't occurred to me either.

Beefking: I am so onto you. I thought there was a funny small around here ;-)

Jordan: Hacama Tapala :-)) (Can you tell that all my contact with Gaelic has been oral not written?)

I thought I'd posted this comment already but I must not have actually finished. Sorry, Lesley.

I've followed the meme over on my other blog, too, and it's been rather gratifying to see that there are still a lot of people reading.

I guess there's a lesson here ... You don't really know how many people you touch ... or the manner you touch them. I must try to remember that. Thanks, Lesley.

Aye Ayem, Madam. It was the lovely Ms.Mac, which led me to this place...

Hello. I might be late for this, but thought I'd leave a comment anyway.
The "next blog" button lead me to you, which is how I find most of the intriguing people out here!

Confinement

Being confined indoors most of the day, just the four of us, is reminding me of the days when my children were wee and most of our weekends ...
