Venerable, to be sure! Great lighting. This has wonderful personality.

Happy WW!
Another cool tree for WW. I love this one too. All the grey and then all the green. Great shot. Have a great WW. :)

Aaaarrrrrr.
Love that tree!
tree-mendous!
A twisty twiney tree. Straight out of my childhood.
Is it a plane tree?
I want to recline in that tree. Wordlessly.
Thanks for all of the comments, even if I suspect that many of them were "duty comments"". The tree is actually a lagerstroemia and yes it is in our backyard, only we call it a garden, not a yard. The children love to climb in it. Usually it flowers in July but this year it has decided to flower in October. I can't help feeling that it's trying to tell us something.
Or as Gertrude Stein would have said :
a tree is a tree is a tree ...
Bloomin heck! You can get a lager tree out there. Show me the way....
