If we'd had Facebook ...

Thinking about possible status updates if we'd had Facebook circa 1980.

Lesley :
  • is listening to the new Thin Lizzy LP - it's beezer.
  • is eating a walnut whip.
  • is typing this on an electric typewriter - isn't new technology great?
  • has a perfect flick in her hair today à la Farrah Fawcett Majors.
  • just finished "Jonathan Livingstone Seagull". Deep.
  • is going to the Scout Disco tonight. Hope they play A Whiter Shade of Pale for the last slow dance.
  • feels sick - had a few too many Martini bianco and lemonades last night at the Mexican Bar in Roslin.

What a fun idea for a meme. . . I'm going to try playing copy-cat if I find a few minutes. Hope others do as well.

Hi, you've been tagged ! The idea is to show 7 blue things in your house but given the colour of your blog it shouldn't be too difficult.

PS. Jonathan Livingstone brings back so many distant memories !

Big news for this wonderful new year of 1961. IBM has come out with a fantastic new typewriter; makes all those old manual typing machines look like something from the stone age.
This new marvel has a typing element that looks like, and is the size of, a golf ball. The golf ball has all the letters and numbers on it. When you hit a key the golf ball electronically and speedily spins around and the chosen letter appears on the paper. Incredible.
It may be that this is about as far as modern science can go in the field of communication; there just isn't that much more left to invent.
